I want to paint a mural of a garden in my daughter's room. What kind of paint should I use?

Something with good coverage that will cover light pencil marks from drawing in the design?

  1. I would use a good student grade artist paint like Liquitex Basics or Daler Rowney system 3. These are water soluble until they dry so clean up is easy. Prep the wall with a gesso or KILZ so the paint will stick well.
Using these paints will give you a great color selection at a reasonable price, control over your image, (use student grade artist brushes too) good durability and a chance to show off your artistic ability.
You can get as detailed or keep it as simple as you want.

  2. Acrylic paint or any water based paint. Don’t use a flat paint though because you want the finished product to have a little shine to it.
